About presets.dev
What is presets.dev?
presets.dev is the largest open-source community library of rules, instructions, prompts, agents, and skills for AI coding tools. Everything is free, MIT-licensed, and copy-paste ready.
Developers use presets.dev to configure GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cline, and OpenAI Codex to follow their team's conventions, languages, and best practices — without writing the configuration from scratch.

Content types
Markdown files (.md / .mdc) that instruct an AI coding tool how to behave in a project — coding style, patterns to follow or avoid, naming conventions.
Persistent system-level instructions for tools like GitHub Copilot. Scoped to a repository or workspace.
Specialized AI agents that integrate with MCP servers, APIs, and external tools for multi-step tasks.
Self-contained folders with bundled commands, hooks, and context — drop them into Claude Code or compatible tools.
Contributing
presets.dev is community-driven and open source. All contributions are welcome — whether you're adding a new rule for a framework, improving an existing agent, or fixing a typo.
Submit a pull request on GitHub. Content is stored as Markdown files in src/data/content/ and organised by tool, type, and technology.
License
All content on presets.dev is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute any preset — attribution is appreciated but not required.
